Apple, yesterday morning, sent out invites to a event taking place on September12 at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in downtown San Francisco and is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM Pacific / 1:00 PM Eastern. The invite says “It’s almost here.” The event believed to be the launch of their next-generation iPhone. Though the company hasn’t provided more details, Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to announce the iPhone 5 at the event and show off its new features.
The date confirms a report from WSJ, Reuters, Bloomberg earlier this month, claiming Apple would be holding it on September 12, and matches up with a story from All Things Digital before that, which said Apple would be holding an event in the second week of September.
The next Apple operating system for iPad and iPhone devices, iOS 6.0, is also expected to be released the same day.
